Hey! I enjoyed this podcast episode and found it very informative. Thanks for sharing different perspectives and experiences on homeschooling and unschooling! It’s true everyone does it so differently and sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming at least that’s the case for me and unschooling with a twist even though my girls are 2 & 4. I like knowing that they’re getting educated in all ways
I'm so glad you it valuable. Thank you also for writing and letting me know so that I can be sure to more like this. I have something special I've been working on and there will be a lot more content like this exploring different homeschool/unschooling experiences and perspectives. I'm so excited to launch it and I hope you will also find it as valuable as I have personally found it!
Tho I didn't homeschool, I teach college and I found this very interesting. By the way, what is the name of the ancient Greek method of learning to write that you mentioned around the 2min mark? I couldn't catch it. Was it something like what is summarized here? https://bit.ly/4lIsxbu
It's the progymnasmata. It's quite powerful. My oldest has just started it (it starts late elem and many kids don't do it until high school). There are several classical education platforms that use it. That link is more about handwriting. The best summary I've found out there about it is at this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5BXCE8wFv0&list=PLVTTYXJZjjHLnTVwifmJ9WaF_pqQfhLMy&index=10

As a veteran homeschool mom, former speech-language pathologist, and life-long learner, I found this conversation fascinating! Thank you for sharing!
I didn't know you were an SLP too! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, for 11 years bookending our 15 years homeschooling! (My licensure isn't current anymore)
Thank you so much! I will pass this on to my daughters who are both now homeschooling their children.
I hope it’s of value!
